This year your Sample Ballot (should be out in May) will read a phone book (for those under 30, a phone book is a printed list of names and phone numbers that used to be delivered to your house).
There are 254 people running for election: 13 for federal house of representatives, 68 for State Senate & Assembly, 10 for County Commission.
--In case you wanted to know, there are 3 types of judges up for election:
1) County Judges (called District Court Judges) handle both civil & criminal trials,
2) County Family Law Judges (called Family Court Judges), and
3) Justices of the Peace in different townships.
--District Court Judges are County-wide races (everybody in the County gets to vote). It is called District Court because Clark County is the Eighth Judicial District in the State of Nevada.
-There are 55 people running for 20 of the 32 District Court Courtrooms (the judges in the other 12 courtrooms are unopposed).
--Family Court is also a County-wide race.
-There are 43 people running for 15 of the 26 Family Court Courtrooms (the other 11 are unopposed).
You can see what is coming in May on your sample ballot--get ready:
